New Jesrsey Non-Resident gun laws? Can I posess a pistol?

I am staying in New Jersey for 2 months for work (in the Newark area). I am staying in a hotel and would like to bring my pistol with me (non large capacity wather PPK .380). I am a duly licensed Machussetts resident. uming the firearm stayed in the hotel and was transported and stored according to NJ laws is this legal? I looked up the laws online and of course with any blue state they are very vauge.
